1,341 Kilos of Cocaine!
According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, the two hospitalized suspects will be criminally charged once they are discharged from the K.H.M.H. When the six men were apprehended on Sunday during the bust, there was a shootout with the police.

“The persons charged are, we have Carlos Cruz. He is a Mexican and Juan Cruz, Ecuadoran. Both were the pilot of the plane so those two were charged with importation of controlled substance which is cocaine. We have four persons who will be charged for possession or trafficking for the drugs as well as for abetment to import cocaine into the country. The total weight of the cocaine seized was one thousand three hundred and forty one kilograms.”
“Any of the persons Belizean?”
“None are Belizeans. We have four Hondurans, one Ecuadoran and one Mexican.”
“Do we know if these persons entered the country via the international airport or other way?”
“They came in through the border.”
“Any else in the individuals, the condition of those injured.”
“We know that two are still hospitalized and in stable condition. It is expected that they will make full recovery and as soon as they have then we will proceed with charges against them.”
“Sir, are you working in collaboration with regional partners in terms of intelligence for this operation?”
“Yes as we said at the press brief on Monday that we worked in collaboration with different agencies as well as other countries to gather information as well as to coordinate our operations to be successful.”
